About Me

When I was nine, my mom gave me some spare change and sent me to the grocery store to buy some broccoli. But on my way to the produce section, I saw a box of baseball cards. It was the spring of 1970. For reasons I can't explain — I knew nothing of baseball — I spent my mom's money on baseball cards. When my dad found out, he bought me some more baseball cards. Thus began my journey into the realm of collecting baseball memorabilia. At 10, I was less impressed by the new 1971 cards than I was by another discovery: old cards. It turned out that they had been making these things since the 1880s! Soon, I discovered card shows, and from there, an entire world of baseball-related memorabilia. Fifty years later, my passion for collecting is as strong as ever. Please let me know if you have any questions about my website — I can be reached at bigsurink@yahoo.com
